We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant in Nursing (AIN)to join the team on a part time basis. As the AIN ,you are a valued and integral member of the clinical team. You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high quality patient care
  • Assisting with admissions & preparing patients for surgery under the direction of the RN/CN
  • Orientating patients to recovery area
  • Assisting patients with refreshments
  • Preparing and escorting patients for discharge
  • Patient rounding
  • Cleaning & restocking activities
  • assistance with stock management

About you: 

  • Certificate III Health Service Assistant or a  Bachelor of Nursing Student / Diploma of Nursing Student

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Orderly to join the supportive and dynamic team at North Lakes Day Hospital on a Part time basis approximately 4 days per week.

As an Orderly you are a valued and integral member of the clinical team. You will support and assist with the safe transfer and positioning of patients, setup of operating theatres, maintaining equipment and taking responsibility for the management and coordination of facility stock levels to ensure continuity of service.

About You: 

The successful applicant for this position will have the following:

  • previous experience as a theatre orderly
  • previous experience managing & ordering of stock & supplies
  • demonstrates a  “can do ” attitude
  • demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of  equipment management
  • good knowledge of safe manual handling principles and practices
  • good knowledge on infection control principles
  • adapts and support flows in a busy day hospital setting
  • ability to liaise with a multi-disciplinary team
  • ability to prioritise and co-ordinate work to meet patient and customer  needs
  • ability to work autonomously in an efficient and effective manner

MATERNITY AND PATERNITY LEAVE

Hospital employees can sometimes struggle to find the right family and work balance. As a father of young children, Henry Barclay, CEO of Montserrat Day Hospitals, approaches this topic with great importance. North Lakes Day Hospital is pleased to provide extended maternity leave of 12 weeks at half pay and an additional seven days of paternity leave, also at half pay.
